IIT Dharwad celebrated its 10th Foundation Day with a memorable ceremony marking a decade of academic excellence, research, innovation and institutional growth.
The programme began with Vande Mataram and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the welcome address by PRof. Sudhanshu Shukla.
In his address, PROF. VenkappayyA R. dEsAi, Director, IIT Dharwad, presented the Institute’s journey. He introduced the Chief Guest and highlighted his association with Dharwad. He also spoke about the five types of teachers, emphasising the importance of continuous learning and self-improvement.
PRof. Ravikumar C introduced the Chief Guest, PROF. Ravindra Gudi, Deputy Director (Finance, Infrastructure & Administration), Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, who addressed the gathering and reflected on his connection with Dharwad.
Prof. Gudi appreciated IIT Dharwad’s notable initiatives in research, Bionest, Net Zero, solar energy, sustainability and campus development. He also highlighted the transformative potential of AI and ML, including prompt engineering and human-centric applications of AI, and emphasised the importance of technology-driven solutions that create meaningful societal impact.
The programme also featured the presentation of awards to meritorious students, recognising their achievements. The Chief Guest was felicitated by the Director, and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks by PRof. Sudhanshu Shukla.
