Prof. DEBALINA CHAKRAVARTY, Assistant Professor, Humanities, Economics, Arts and Rural Technologies, participated in a panel discussion organised by WRI India and IIT Tirupati on 11th April, 2026 on “Emerging AI Technologies for a Sustainable Future: Prospects and Challenges” at IIT Tirupati. The discussion highlighted AI’s transformative influence on jobs and industries in India, with a focus on emerging employment opportunities. It also emphasized the need to integrate labour laws with AI-driven systems to ensure fair transitions. Special attention was given to leveraging AI for providing social support to communities with vulnerable livelihood options, promoting inclusive and sustainable development.
