Rotary Club of DHARWAD Meets IIT DHARWAD Outreach Team to Discuss Establishment of a Rotaract Club

On 19 February 2026, officials from the Rotary Club of DHARWAD met with the Outreach team of IIT DHARWAD to discuss the establishment of a Rotaract Club at IIT DHARWAD. The proposed initiative aims to actively involve IIT Dharwad students as volunteers in a wide range of community engagement and social impact activities. 

The discussions focused on organizing and supporting initiatives such as community drives, cleanliness campaigns, blood donation camps, social outreach activities, interactions with local bodies and community organizations, awareness campaigns, Women’s Day programs, and other socially relevant activities. The collaboration seeks to foster a strong culture of civic responsibility and leadership among students while strengthening the institute’s engagement with the local community.

Representing IIT Dharwad in the discussions were PRof Dhiraj V. Patil, Dean-Outreach, Alumni & Corporate Relations; Prof Debalina Chakravarty, Faculty In-Charge-Entrepreneurship, Incubation and Outreach; and PRof C. Ravikumar, Associate Dean-General Outreach.

The proposed Rotaract Club is envisioned as a platform for students to contribute meaningfully to society while developing leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills through structured community service initiatives.
