We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our One-Day Workshop on "Advancements in Asphalt Binder Rheology: Towards Resilient Road Infrastructure," held on July 25, 2025, at IIT DHARWAD!

We had an overwhelming response with 125 participants from diverse backgrounds, including government, industry, academia, and research fraternities. It was inspiring to see such a strong engagement from all sectors!

A special thank you to PROF. VenkappayyA R. dEsAi, Director, IIT DHARWAD, and the Head of Department Giridhar Rajesh Bande, Civil & Infrastructure Engineering, for their insightful inauguration speeches, setting a fantastic tone for the day.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated PhD scholars – Prasad Bishetti, Darshan N, Abhinag Shantharam, maheshwari Bisanal, Mr. Sujeendra (JS) and others – whose tireless efforts and meticulous planning were crucial in organizing this event and making the lab sessions a great success, including the DSR demonstrations!

The workshop provided a comprehensive understanding of bituminous pavements and highlighted key aspects of testing asphalt binders. Participants gained valuable insights into rheological principles, Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) testing, and the performance grading of asphalt binders as per Indian and international guidelines. The hands-on lab sessions were particularly well-received, translating theory into practical application and emphasizing the crucial link between lab and field implementation of material selection.

We received constructive feedback from the participants, which will undoubtedly help us in organizing even more impactful events in the future.
