The Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Dharwad, had the privilege of hosting Prof. Siddhartha Panda (IIT Kanpur) during the ANRF-Sponsored Symposium on “Smart Interfaces: Colloids in Medicine, Energy, and Materials”, held on 9th October 2025.

Prof. Panda delivered an insightful and inspiring talk on “Flexible Printed Gas Sensors – Sensing Mechanisms and Applications.” He discussed the design of next-generation gas sensors capable of operating at room temperature on flexible substrates, a step forward in healthcare, food safety, environmental monitoring, and wearable technologies.

Through his extensive research on conjugated polymers, organic-inorganic composites, and sensor arrays, Prof. Panda demonstrated how fundamental understanding of interfacial mechanisms can drive innovations in smart, low-power, and flexible sensing systems for real-world applications. We sincerely thank Prof. Panda for sharing his pioneering research and inspiring our students and researchers with his vision toward smart materials and sustainable sensor technologies.
