A delegation from HDFC Bank, led by Shri Ahmed Zackaria (Branch Banking Head, Karnataka & Kerala) and comprising Shri Jaipal (Area Head, Government Institutions), Shri Nagraj Raddi (Cluster Head), Shri N. K. Ramanarayanan (Circle Head), and Shri Mrityunjay Shisambrimath (AVP), visited IIT Dharwad to explore potential collaborations in the areas of banking services and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The team held detailed discussions with the institute’s leadership during the visit.

The institute was represented by the PROF VenkappayyA R. dEsAi, Director, along with senior officials, including PRof Dhiraj V Patil, Dean (Outreach), PRof C Ravikumar, Associate Dean (Outreach), Dr Kalyan Kumar Bhattacharjee, Registrar, Shri Malathesh L, Program Head (dhaRti BioNEST), Prof [Ms] Nagaveni S Faculty-in-Charge (dhaRti & the Institute Innovation Council), and Shri Ramesh Kumar Ram, Assistant Registrar (MMD).
During the meeting, the HDFC Bank team elaborated on ‘Parivartan’, the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, which drives its social impact programs and provides grants to startups creating positive societal change. The bank is also an active partner in the national Startup India program.
IIT Dharwad presented several avenues for partnership, highlighting ongoing and proposed projects where HDFC Bank’s CSR support could create significant impact. These included initiatives in school education support for the KV School, renewable energy projects, and fostering deep-tech innovation through startups incubated at the dhaRti Foundation. The bank officials expressed keen interest in supporting these initiatives and appreciated the institute’s ongoing and planned CSR activities.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties agreeing to take forward discussions on these potential collaborations for sustainable social development.
