Orientation Programme 2025 – Welcome Session for UG and PG Students

The Orientation Programme for newly admitted UG and PG students of IIT dhArwAD commenced with a warm and inspiring welcome session. The dignitaries on the dais, along with two newly joined students, lit the ceremonial lamp, symbolising the start of their academic journey at IIT dhArwAD.
A virtual campus tour video provided students with an overview of the institute’s facilities and vibrant campus life. Prof Ramjee Repaka, Dean (Student Welfare), welcomed the students and introduced the student welfare facilities and Faculty-in-Charges.
Prof. VenkappayyA R. dEsAi, Director, spoke about dhArwAD – its rich heritage, climate, and prominent personalities – and called upon students to embrace the spirit of “Samasya Samadhan to Samruddhi.” Prof. Naveen Mysore Balasubramanya., Dean (Academic Programmes), introduced Department Faculty-in-Charges and HoDs, while Prof. S.M. Shivaprasad, Dean (Outreach), encouraged the Head-Heart-Hand approach for holistic growth and urged students to become “thinkoholics.”
Prof Jayakumar KV, Outreach Advisor, encouraged students to learn Kannada and other languages and to actively interact with peers. Dr. Kalyan Bhattacharjee, Registrar, introduced the Assistant Registrars and highlighting IIT dhArwAD’s young and dynamic faculty.
The session concluded with an engaging interaction where students asked questions and shared their thoughts. The programme was seamlessly compered by Prof. Ravikumar C.
