IIT Dharwad Celebrates Smriti Jha's Exceptional Achievements in Graduate Admissions

 

Smriti Jha, a distinguished student from IIT Dharwad, has secured coveted admits to pursue a Masters degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at prestigious institutions including Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), Columbia University (where she was awarded the prestigious Nikola Tesla Scholarship), University of California San Diego (UCSD), Purdue University, and New York University (NYU).


Throughout her time at IIT Dharwad, Smriti engaged in extensive research under the guidance of Professor Naveen MB and Professor Anand Konjengbam. She has also gained valuable experience through research internships at the University of British Columbia (through the MITACS program) and the New York Institute of Technology. Currently, she is conducting research at the National University of Singapore during her final semester.


Smriti's contributions to academia are substantial, with four research publications and a poster presentation to her credit. Her commitment extends beyond the classroom; she has actively participated in extracurricular activities, serving as the Secretary of the Literary Club and being involved in the Career Development Cell (CDC), Student Mentorship Program (SMP), Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU), and Girlscript.
