IIT DHARWAD Signs MoU with National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad

DHARWAD, March 6: The Indian Institute of Technology DHARWAD (IIT DHARWAD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad a key centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), on Friday to strengthen collaboration in remote sensing, geospatial technologies, and related research areas.

The programme began with a welcome note by the Dean (Outreach, Alumni and Corporate Relations) of IIT DHARWAD, followed by a briefing on the MoU by the Head of the Programme Planning and Evaluation Group (PPEG) of NRSC. The Director of NRSC, Hyderabad Dr. Prakash Chauhan and the Director of IIT DHARWAD Venkappayya R. Desai shared their remarks, emphasizing the importance of institutional collaboration in advancing research in remote sensing applications, data analytics, and space technology for societal development.

The MoU was formally signed in the presence of senior officials, including Deans, Heads of departments, and faculty members of IIT DHARWAD, followed by a group photograph.

As part of the visit, the Director of NRSC, Hyderabad also delivered a talk at the Senate Hall of IIT DHARWAD, engaging with students and faculty members on emerging developments in remote sensing, satellite data applications, and opportunities for academic–research partnerships.

The collaboration aims to promote joint research initiatives, academic exchange, and capacity building in geospatial science and satellite data applications.
