Mr. Prashant Veer from the Additive Manufacturing and 4D Printing (AM4D) Lab, IIT Dharwad, presented his research on “Enhancing Surface Properties of Directed Energy Deposition Additive Manufactured Components Through Shot Peening” at the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition® (IMECE India 2025), held at the Hyderabad International Convention Center, Hyderabad, from 10–13 September 2025. 

The work, carried out under the guidance of Prof. Somashekara M A and Dr. Rakesh Lingam, highlights the growing potential of hybrid additive manufacturing for efficient control of surface texture and engineering. The platform also enabled rich academic–industry interactions, furthering the scope of collaborative innovation.
